he Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences was set up in 2010 as SGT Medical College, Hospital & Research Institute with the objective to offer medical education and research programs and to provide healthcare services to the necessitous people in its surrounding areas at an affordable cost. Presently, this Faculty offers the following programmers :

MBBS
 M.D.in all Pre & Para Medical subjects
 M. Sc. (Medical) in all Pre & Para-clinical subjects
 Ph.D. in all Pre and Para-clinical subjects
 Master of public health
The Internship of the First Batch of MBBS students admitted in the year 2010 will commence from 1st January 2015. M.D. programmes in the clinical subjects are in pipeline. All these courses are being run under the able guidance of highly competent and specialized senior medical faculty.
The Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences has a 580-bed multi-specialty Hospital attached to it for the hands-on training and skill development of the budding players in the medical field. The hospital is well-equipped with the most advanced facilities in the area and caters to the need of the rural and urban populace in and around Gurugram. The well-experienced consultants in all specialties such as General Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Respiratory Medicine, Skin & VD, Psychiatry, Radio-diagnosis & Anaesthesiology man the hospital and provide the best health services round the clock.

Dr. (Prof.) Sansar Chand Sharma is a renowned Orthopedic Surgeon with more than 35 years of experience. He is an alumnus (MBBS 1979, MS 1983, DNB 1985) of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak. He has additional training in Arthroplasty, Knee Arthroscopy and Trauma at BG Unfallklinik Tubingen (Germany 1995), Beth Israel and Park East Hospitals, Manhattan (USA 1996). He has been senior Professor in Govt. Medical Colleges and founder Director Principal of Govt. Medical College, Nalhar (Haryana). Indian Orthopedic Association has awarded him a prestigious Johnsons & Johnsons fellowship. He has a special interest in arthroplasty and trauma surgery particularly that of the upper limb and hip region. He has delivered more than 100 guest lectures and published 77 papers in the International and National Journals. He has been bestowed upon 5 best scientific paper awards

MD - Anaesthesiology

The purpose of PG education is to create specialists who would provide high quality health care and advance the cause of science through research & training. A post graduate specialist having undergone the required training in anesthesiology should be able to recognize the health needs of the community. He or she should be competent to handle effectively medical problems and should be aware of the recent advances pertaining to his/her specialty. She/he should be highly competent anesthesiologist with broad range of skills that will enable him/her to practice anesthesiology independently. The PG student should also acquire the basic skills in teaching of medical/para-medical students. She/he is also expected to know the principles of research methodology and modes of consulting library. She/he should attend conferences, workshops and CMEs regularly to upgrade his/her knowledge. The purpose of this document is to provide teachers and learners illustrative guidelines to achieve defined outcomes through learning and assessment. This document was prepared by various subject-content specialists. The Reconciliation Board of the Academic Committee has attempted to render uniformity without compromise to purpose and content of the document. Compromise in purity of syntax has been made in order to preserve the purpose and content. This has necessitated retention of “domains of learning” under the heading “competencies”

MD - Psychiatry

M. D. in Psychiatry is a Clinical Speciality course.

Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry explores the major psychiatric syndromes like psychotic, mood and anxiety disorders, psychological effects of physical diseases, the doctor-patient relationship, human development, patient interviewing, and ethical issues in medicine. It is a three-year postgraduation course and can be pursued by any MBBS holders from a University recognized by Medical council of India. Most psychiatrists practice general psychiatry. Sub-specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Geriatric psychiatry can be conducted after M. D. in Psychiatry.
