Dr. Ramesh Chaturvedi has done his graduation from Seth G. S. Medical College and KEM Hospital in the year 1979. From the same institute he did his post-graduation in the subject of Community Medicine.
He has more than 35 years of teaching experience. He has worked in various capacities from tutor to Dean. He has worked in Seth G.S.Medical College,Mumbai; Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College,Mumbai and HBT Medical College,Mumbai. He was the founder Dean of HBT Medical College and Dr R.N. Cooper Municipal General Hospital. HBT Medical College was established and started in the shortest period of 8 months in Government set up which is itself a landmark in the history of medical college.
He has diversified the scope of Community Medicine. His major contribution to the medical science is development of ‘ICRC’ anti leprosy vaccine. It was second largest double blind control trial in India after BCG trial. He has more than sixty National and International original research publications to his credit. He is co-author of a text book on Medical Statistics and Research Methodology. He is more known for his innovative ideas in the field of Community Medicine. His research work is more diversified from the field of Skin, Microbiology, Surgery, Immunology, Public Health, Sociology and Health Management. He is even recipient of Gold Medal from National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, an apex institute of Government of India.
He is multidimensional even made contributions in the field of art and literature.
Dr. Sachendra Srivastava has obtained both MBBS and MD (Pharmacology) degree from King George’s Medical University, Lucknow (UP) in the year 1983 and 1989 respectively. He is an eminent teacher with vast teaching experience of about 34 years (20 years as Professor and Head) in Pharmacology.
He worked in various capacities in recognized medical colleges. After completion of his MBBS, he worked as House officer and Junior resident in Anaesthesiology in King George’s Medical University, Lucknow (UP). During his post- graduation in Pharmacology, he worked as Junior Resident (from 26-08-1987 to 31-07-1990). Subsequently, he worked as Assistant Professor (from 09-10-1990 to 30-09-1996), Associate Professor (from 01-10-1996 to 18-07-2000) and Professor & Head, department of Pharmacology, Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education & Research (SMIMER), Surat, Gujarat (from 19-07-2000 to 31-08-2020). He worked as Coordinator ADR monitoring center, SMIMER, Surat and was a member of Signal Review Panel, PvPI, Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Ghaziabad under MOH&FW. He joined the present institute on 09-02-2021.
He has been examiner for both the undergraduate and postgraduate examinations in various medical colleges of India. Prof. Srivastava has been an active researcher as well, published many research papers in reputed scientific Journals including International Journals and was awarded “CL Malhotra Research Prize” for the best paper in Pharmacology in 1997, by the Association of Physiologists and Pharmacologists of India (APPI). He has been awarded Fellowship of International Medical Sciences Academy (FIMSA) in 2013 for substantial contribution in medical sciences. He has published 8 books in Pharmacology that include “Complete Textbook of Medical Pharmacology”, “Pharmacology for MBBS”, Pharmacology in Nutshell and Pharmacology books for Dental, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and B.Sc. Nursing; and Manual of Practical Pharmacology for MBBS.

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (Latin: Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae; abbreviated in many ways, most commonly MBBS, but also MB ChB, BMBS, MB BCh, MB BChir), is the primary medical degree awarded by medical schools in countries that follow the tradition of the United Kingdom. The historical degree nomenclature states that they are two separate undergraduate degrees. In practice, however, they are usually combined as one and conferred together, and may also be awarded at graduate-level medical schools.
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), is a professional degree in medical science. A person holding the MBBS degree becomes a certified medical practitioner. The duration of MBBS course is five years and six months including one year of rotational internship at hospitals, health centres, and health camps organised by non-profit organisations (NGOs). MBBS course syllabus includes studies on anatomy, pharmacology, pathology as well as community health & medicine, paediatrics, and surgery. The syllabus, prescribed in such a way that MBBS degree holders can choose a specialisation for further majoring and practising medicine. The career specialisations for MBBS students are Nephrology, Cardiology, Gynecology, Anesthesiology, Organ Transplant, Endocrine, and General Surgery, etc.
