Baba Raghav Das, popularly known as 'Gandhi of Poorvanchal', was born in a rich Brahman family on 12 December 1896 at Pune, Maharastra. He played a great role in the political, social, economic, and the cultural activities of the nation. After his education he left Mumbai in 1913 in search of a siddh guru and reached Kashi. After that he went to Ghazipur, where he met 'Mauni baba' and learned Hindi. Later he met 'YogirajAnantMahaprabhu' and accepted him as his guru. In 1921, Mahatma Gandhi visited Gorakhpur.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh was approved in February, 2009 under Phase-II of Pradhan Mantri Sawasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) at an approved cost of Rs. 823 crore. The State Government had agreed to provide 148 acres of land. A Gazette Notification was issued on 13th August, 2013 for establishment of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Rae Bareli. The Government of Uttar Pradesh transferred land measuring 97 acres out of already agreed 148 acres to the Central Government in July, 2013 for establishment of AIIMS Rae Bareli.

Dr. Sangeeta Aneja became the Principal & Dean of Autonomous State Medical College Society, Firozabad, affiliated to King George Medical University (KGMU) Lucknow, India in March 2019. She is an alumnus of the same college, having completed her MBBS and MD in Radio-diagnosis from there. Being a professor of Radio-diagnosis, she also headed the Department of Radio-diagnosis at Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial (LLRM) Medical College, Meerut. Dr.

T.D. Medical College is the 1st Medical college in the state which was started under Private Management . This Medical college is situated in the suburban area of Vandanam, 9 km south of the Alappuzha (previously Alleppey) town, facing the NH 47, in Alappuzha district of Kerala State, South India. The initials T.D. stand for Thirumala Devaswom, which in Sanskrit means belonging to the Lord of Thirumala, since this Medical College was started in 1963 under the patronage of the T.D. Temple at Anantha Narayana Puram of Alappuzha.

Originally established by the Government of Kerala as an advanced centre for medical specialties, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) metamorphosed into an Institution of National Importance with the status of a University in 1980 under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India by an Act of Parliament (Act 52 of 1980). The joint culture of medicine and technology that the Institute pioneered more than three decades ago has come of age and gained unprecedented acceptance in India.
