Mayo Institute Of Medical Sciences (MIMS), Barabanki was founded by Bodhisatva Charitable Trust. The Institution has been functional since 2012-13. It is approved by the Medical Council of India and it is affiliated to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in medicine.

Baba Raghav Das, popularly known as 'Gandhi of Poorvanchal', was born in a rich Brahman family on 12 December 1896 at Pune, Maharastra. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh was approved in February, 2009 under Phase-II of Pradhan Mantri Sawasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) at an approved cost of Rs. 823 crore. The State Government had agreed to provide 148 acres of land. A Gazette Notification was issued on 13th August, 2013 for establishment of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Rae Bareli. The Government of Uttar Pradesh transferred land measuring 97 acres out of already agreed 148 acres to the Central Government in July, 2013 for establishment of AIIMS Rae Bareli.

Dr. Sangeeta Aneja became the Principal & Dean of Autonomous State Medical College Society, Firozabad, affiliated to King George Medical University (KGMU) Lucknow, India in March 2019.
