NEIGRIHMS was established by the Government of India in 1987. It has been designed as a Postgraduate Medical Institute in lineage of AIIMS, New Delhi and PGIMER, Chandigarh. It is the First Postgraduate Medical Institute in the North Eastern Region and the Third in the Country established by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The Institute was registered as a Society on 12th January 1987 by the Registrar of Societies, Meghalaya, Shillong under the name of 

1. Name of the organization: Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal.
2. Year of Formation/Incorporation: 1972
3. Mode of incorporation: Registered under the Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989 (Manipur Act 1 of 1990).

A long cherished dream of a Medical College at Madurai the Temple City – came into reality in the year 1954 with the great efforts of the National Leader late Thiru K. Kamaraj.
  
Thirumathi Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, the then Hon’ble Minister for Health, the Government of India inaugurated the Institution on 2.8.1954 at the old Taluk Building at the Fair Weather road, Madurai.

Meenakshi Medical College and Research Institute offer one of the most forward-looking educational environments in medicine in the country. The college is dedicated to training doctors of various branches of medicine as experts in clinical skills and knowledge thereby applying it for the welfare of the community. The College and Hospital Complex has been raised in an area of 39.08acres, ideally located with salubrious surroundings.

Rev. Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad – an eminent educationist having a teaching experience of more than 40 years in College of Engineering as an Undergraduate and Postgraduate Professor, is a man of great vision who is totally committed to the development of technical education and the cause of raising the qualities of life for the Indian masses. He was awarded the Doctorate in Philosophy and Education by the International University of Washington.

The institution and its teaching hospital are located in a sprawling green campus located right on the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway (NH 16).  It is 23 km from the Vijayawada city the biggest Railway Junction in South India and just 5km away from Vijayawada Airport and everyday air flights are available from Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and New Delhi cities.  The campus is well connected by road by Chennai, Kolkata highway number.  The Institute and Hospital was established in Rural Area in Krishna District covering the population around 30 lakhs.

You are welcome to the world of Narayan Medical College & Hospital. Narayan Medical College and Hospital(NMCH) got the approval to start MBBS course from 2008-09 academic year. After recommendation by the Medical Council of India (MCI), the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare approved MBBS program for 100 seatswhich has been now increased to 150 Seats from the year 2018 after recommendation by the Medical Council of India (MCI) to the Central Government. NMCH will always strive to scale new parameters in the field of health education and research.

The Kosi region in the north of the state of Bihar which is spread over two divisions of Purnea and Saharsa suffers from the lack of development of road, power, education and medical facilities. Extreme economic backwardness tells upon health, education and culture of the people of this region. Meritorious students of the region in general and Muslim youths in particular can ill afford to go out side for medical, technical and other professional education. Moreover, the ailing people of the area had to go to distant places e.g.

Government Medical College, Patiala was started on 29th September, 1953 at Patiala, the capital of erstwhile Pepsu State, at that time a separate State from Punjab, under the Government Of India President’s rule . This was the first Medical College in Pepsu State with a population of over 20 lacs. The Rajendra Hospital, Patiala, was under construction when the college started. The foundation stone of the college building was laid by Dr. Rajendra Parshad then President of India on21.12.1953.
