A man of humble beginnings, with sheer persistence he has converted a patch of barren land into a sprawling, pulsating educational centre.

Transformed from a District hospital to a fledgling medical college in 2011, Malda Medical College now stands tall as a prestigious institution in the northern region of West Bengal. With its inception in 2011, Malda Medical College obtained the recognition of MCI in 2016 for hundred UG (MBBS) students. Thus began the journey that has witnessed several milestones being achieved one after another. Intake increased to 125 in 2019. Starting of post-graduation course in Paediatrics (MD) after obtaining LOP from MCI is another feat achieved in 2020.
