In March 1970 a Society namely "Vaishali Shiksha Pratisthan " was registered with objective to advance, promote, encourage & spread of professional, technical & general education in Bihar. The holy union of powerful personality of trio namely Sri L.P.Shahi (the then cabinet minister), late Dr (Prof.)S.M.Nawab (a surgeon of national fame) and Late Sri Raghunath Pandey (a man of conviction & dynamism) built up a strong confidence and enthusiasm among the members of VSP who’s collective & sincere effort given the birth to SRI KRISHNA MEDICAL COLLEGE on fateful day of 11th may, 1970 which was inaugurated by the then "Chief Minister of Bihar", late Sri Daroga Prasad Rai
Admission completed of first batch for the session 1969-70 and teaching work was started in S.K.J. Law College building at Ganipur , MUZAFFARPUR. Dr S.M. Nawab was nominated as founder principal of this college who did not left any stone unturned to run the college smoothly & progressively. He Started four bedded hospital in front of Law College in a rented house and thus a HOSPITAL was born.
In the meantime 170 acres of land was acquired at the east side of Muzaffarpur Sitamarhi road 2 km from zero mile and named as Umanagar. The untiring & tedious effort of of the Administration Registrar Sri M.P. Sinha , Site Engineer Sri R.B.Rai and the Finance Officer Sri P.P.Sinha made it possible to bring up this college in scheduled time period and finally the college was shifted to its own building in January 1973.

BY 1975 four hostel for boys with total capacity & 400 students ,a separate girls hostel, Principals quarter, 18 roomed guest house , a bank , a post office and one lac seventy thousand sq.ft . area of college building with two lecture theatre was erupted. The first team of inspectors from MCI visited the institution In 1975 and the second team arrived in 1977 and the M.B.B.S. degree was recognised by MCI in the first chance. Finally on 1.10.79 it was taken over by Bihar Govt.
After the takeover ,50 admissions to undergraduate degrees is made through a joint entrance examination conducted each year by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board, Patna.
In the March, 2010 College is affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowledge University which was established by Government of Bihar in March, 2010 to consuct and facilitate affiliation of all institutions of professional education . Before this the college was running under affiliation of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur. 26 PG seats are already allotted by Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare but studies could not be started due to want of recognition by MCI. Number of PG seats discipline wise" Anatomy- 02, Physiology-04, Biochemistry-01, Pathology-03, Microbiology 02, Pharmacology -04, Community Medicine-02, General Medicine-02, General Surgery -02, Obs & Gynae-02, Radiology -01, Skin & VD -01.
