Long long ago, once upon a time, on the happy lands of Bhopal arrived a young man with glittering eyes. He was son of an orthodox middle class family who, after completing basic education, got admission to MBBS in 1974 in a prestigious medical college in Punjab.

The boy completed his graduation and post graduation in pediatrics in soon succession. And how destiny could lead him out of nowhere, he arrived in Bhopal in 1984.

A man holding nothing but skills in his hands and dreams in his eyes started his medical practice on the outskirts of Bhopal. His genius in healing, concern for the poor, and readiness to work timelessly to serve the poor patients made him one of the most recognized, reputed, and well-established practitioner of Bhopal.

With the auspicious blessings of his pious parents, Late Shri RN Kapoor and Srimati Janak Kapoor, he took his first flight to success by starting the first technical institute, an engineering college, of RKDF group, established in 1994.

Tasting success like always, the young man got even more ambitious to create his niche in the field of medical services. With grit and perseverance, Bhopal Diagnostic center was established in 1997, the first imaging center of Bhopal of the times.

And this was just a beginning of making of a legend, whom we all today know as, ladies and gentlemen,

Jumping the time lane, 1994 till 2021, the mole has turned into a mountain. The great vision and hard work led the group from one college to over 190 colleges in a short span of 27 years. Today, the RKDF group boasts of having 6 universities (5 in MP, 1 in Jharkhand) running successfully. In the next few months, the group is starting another 2 universities in Tripura and Uttarakhand. The group now imparts education from pre-primary till PhD in practically all streams. The 4000 plus family members of RKDF group, under able guidance of our Chairman sir, are creating professionals in the field of engineering, IT, medicine, dentistry, homeopathy, nursing, pharmacy, and all branches of humanities, to name a few. RKDF is the only group offering maximum number of engineering seats in entire central India.

Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan University was established in 2014 in Bhopal. The University is ably guided by Chancellor Smt Janak Kapoor. University is having 25 colleges affiliated with it, and growing. RKDF medical college hospital and research centre, too, is affiliated with SRK University.

RKDF Medical College Hospital and Research Centre was established in 2014, with admission of 150 students for the course of MBBS. Spread over huge campus of 38 acres, the medical college is gearing itself up to make its mark in healthcare and health education. The 850 bedded Hospital, well equipped Casualty, nine operation theaters, laboratories, multiple academic buildings, well stacked library, hostels and staff quarters… all are ready round the clock to serve Bhopal.

In 2020, during the Covid 19 pandemic, our medical college offered 450 beds with oxygen supply to the government for treatment of active Covid patients. 25 bedded ventilator supported ICU too was made available. Over 150 qualified doctors, nurses and interns worked actively during entire lockdown and Covid period, hand in hand with government bodies. Sister institutes of us, the Dental, Nursing , and homeopathy colleges too participated as active Covid warriors.

 A state of the art, NABL accredited, AIIMS recommended and ICMR approved RTPCR molecular laboratory was established at a rapid pace. We are proud to say that ours was the only lab, which was giving Covid reports by PCR within six hours, and is still amongst the top three private labs in Bhopal.

During dark and demanding situation of oxygen crisis across the country, the hospital established its own Oxygen Plant with the capacity to produce 165 cylinders from natural air as per global standards; all within a span of four days!

The students of MBBS, 2014 first batch has always made us proud. In spite of teething issues, the students and teachers of RKDF MCHRC did exemplary work together. In pre-PG NEET exam 2021 qualifiers, our institute stands third in the state, our students getting admission for MD/MS courses across the country, and some joining army cadres too.

The group has now taken initial steps towards starting post graduate courses in medical college across all specialities. Also, a state of the art super speciality organ transplant hospital, with readiness to airlift patients and organs, is underway.

The Medical College has 3 distinct blocks A, B, C for clinical, paraclinical and preclinical subjects to provide quality education to the future of our healthcare system. The college has 6 lecture halls and 2 exam halls.
