People’s University has separate library in each Constituent Unit the Libraries houses a rich collection of text and reference books, E-Journals, magazines, audio/videos, CD-ROMs, research reports and Digital Library etc. in all areas and branches of study in different disciplines.
People’s University has established Central Library in University Teaching Department, comprising books of all disciplines including Medical, Dental, Engineering, Paramedical, Law, Media Studies and LifeSciences. The libraries are having computers connected by LAN provided with Wi-Fi and internet facilities.
Digital Library enables the students and staff to search the availability, request and reserve various books and other reference material available in the libraries at the comfort of their houses.
Mr. Suresh Vijaywargia was born in Bhopal on 12th May 1944 in a business family. He did his schooling in Bhopal and later joined the State Engineering College at Vidisha. He played an active role in all the activities in college and was the joint secretary of the student union. He got his Engineering Degree (Electrical) in 1968.
A natural aptitude for entrepreneurship coupled with leadership quality helped him in setting up of successful business in India as well as abroad. Despite a promising rise in the US in the 70’s, he returned back to his motherland in the early 80’s and continued with his successful stints in the field of Film Financing, Construction, and Retailing. He started a chain of super bazaars in Bhopal, the first of their kinds. To help the poor and gas affected people of old Bhopal, he started a 100 bedded hospital namely People’s General Hospital in the old locality. A larger vision coupled with intelligence and creativity helped him in realizing his biggest challenge and dream of setting up an educational hub in the city of Bhopal. This resulted in the formation of the People’s Group promoted by Sarvajanik Jankalyan Parmarthik Nyas, A Charitable & Non-profitable Public Trust established by Mr. Suresh Vijaywargia. The People’s Campus located at Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), India, is one of the largest for Medical, Dental, Management, Engineering, Media, Law, Nursing, Paramedical, Physiotherapy and School Educations, Hospitals and Healthcare in the central India. Mr. Vijaywargia has embarked onto a mission for creating and harnessing talent pool for various disciplines. The journey of People’s Group began with the prime objective of “Nurturing Humanity through Health and Educational Excellence”.
Mr. Vijaywargia has been awarded several national awards. The prominent ones are the Millennium 2000 “Samman” in April 2000 at Bhopal. Rashtriya Ratan Award in August 2002 at New Delhi for his achievements in the field of business and educational services and the International Gold Star Millennium Award given by the Global Economic Council at Bangkok. His interviews have appeared in almost all the top class magazine in India and abroad.

Dr. Rajesh Kapur ,Vice Chancellor, People’s University, Bhopal (M.P.), was Senior Adviser and Scientist “H”, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, New Delhi and has been steering R&D in the medical and health care area for the past over two decades in the country. He was associated with the Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi as Senior Consultant in their mission mode programme on India Tuberculosis Research Consortium.
He was Managing Director, of Bharat Immunologicals and Biologicals Corporation Limited (BIBCOL) a Public Sector Undertaking of the Government of India set up for manufacturing oral polio vaccines and other immunisers.
He was also the “Trustee” of The Wellcome Trust/DBT “India Alliance” which is an £160 million initiative funded equally by the Wellcome Trust, UK and DBT to build excellence in the Indian biomedical scientific community by supporting future leaders in the field.
He specializes in core and cross-sectoral policy issues of academic development, biotech regulation, safety, public private partnership, international bilateral cooperation and relations, and public concerns and consensus building. Dr. Kapur is widely travelled and was member of various Inter-Governmental committees and has been an active participant in FAO-WHO Codex Alimentarius meetings in India and abroad. He has been member of the Governing Council and Scientific Advisory Committees/Research Councils of DBT and CSIR Institutions.

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (Latin: Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae; abbreviated in many ways, most commonly MBBS, but also MB ChB, BMBS, MB BCh, MB BChir), is the primary medical degree awarded by medical schools in countries that follow the tradition of the United Kingdom. The historical degree nomenclature states that they are two separate undergraduate degrees. In practice, however, they are usually combined as one and conferred together, and may also be awarded at graduate-level medical schools.
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), is a professional degree in medical science. A person holding the MBBS degree becomes a certified medical practitioner. The duration of MBBS course is five years and six months including one year of rotational internship at hospitals, health centres, and health camps organised by non-profit organisations (NGOs). MBBS course syllabus includes studies on anatomy, pharmacology, pathology as well as community health & medicine, paediatrics, and surgery. The syllabus, prescribed in such a way that MBBS degree holders can choose a specialisation for further majoring and practising medicine. The career specialisations for MBBS students are Nephrology, Cardiology, Gynecology, Anesthesiology, Organ Transplant, Endocrine, and General Surgery, etc.

The purpose of PG education is to create specialists who would provide high quality health care and advance the cause of science through research & training. A post graduate specialist having undergone the required training in anesthesiology should be able to recognize the health needs of the community. He or she should be competent to handle effectively medical problems and should be aware of the recent advances pertaining to his/her specialty. She/he should be highly competent anesthesiologist with broad range of skills that will enable him/her to practice anesthesiology independently. The PG student should also acquire the basic skills in teaching of medical/para-medical students. She/he is also expected to know the principles of research methodology and modes of consulting library. She/he should attend conferences, workshops and CMEs regularly to upgrade his/her knowledge. The purpose of this document is to provide teachers and learners illustrative guidelines to achieve defined outcomes through learning and assessment. The Reconciliation Board of the Academic Committee has attempted to render uniformity without compromise to purpose and content of the document. M. D. in Psychiatry is a Clinical Speciality course.
Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry explores the major psychiatric syndromes like psychotic, mood and anxiety disorders, psychological effects of physical diseases, the doctor-patient relationship, human development, patient interviewing, and ethical issues in medicine. It is a three-year postgraduation course and can be pursued by any MBBS holders from a University recognized by Medical council of India. Most psychiatrists practice general psychiatry. Sub-specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Geriatric psychiatry can be conducted after M. D. in Psychiatry.
