Government Medical College Khandwa is situated in district of khandwa which is guarded by Narmada river form one side and Satpura hill range from other side. Khandwa is a city in the Nimar region of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is the administrative headquarters of Khandwa District, formerly known as East Nimar District. Khandwa is an ancient city, with many places of worship, like many other cities in India. Most temples are Hindu or Jain. During the 12th century CE, it was a centre of Jainism. During British rule, it replaced nearby Burhanpur (now a separate district) as the main commercial centre of the Nimaad region.
Government Medical College, khandwa is one of the seven new medical colleges in state of Madhya Pradesh which came into existence in year 2017-18. GMC has a lush green campus spread over area of 34acres. The Medical Education complex is a beautiful architecture and landscaped well both from utility and aesthetic point of view. The serene and spacious environment has earned the distinction of being one of the best medical complexes.

Hostel:

Separate secured hostels are there for boys and girls with spacious rooms designed for twin sharing. Hostels are equipped with water purifier, water cooler, solar powered water geysers, and 24 hrs security, power back ups, recreation rooms, gymnasium and indoor games facilities. Separate rooms for visitors and wardens are available too. Hostel has multi cuisine mess for healthy hygienic and lip smacking food.

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (Latin: Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae; abbreviated in many ways, most commonly MBBS, but also MB ChB, BMBS, MB BCh, MB BChir), is the primary medical degree awarded by medical schools in countries that follow the tradition of the United Kingdom. The historical degree nomenclature states that they are two separate undergraduate degrees. In practice, however, they are usually combined as one and conferred together, and may also be awarded at graduate-level medical schools.

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), is a professional degree in medical science. A person holding the MBBS degree becomes a certified medical practitioner. The duration of MBBS course is five years and six months including one year of rotational internship at hospitals, health centres, and health camps organised by non-profit organisations (NGOs). MBBS course syllabus includes studies on anatomy, pharmacology, pathology as well as community health & medicine, paediatrics, and surgery. The syllabus, prescribed in such a way that MBBS degree holders can choose a specialisation for further majoring and practising medicine. The career specialisations for MBBS students are Nephrology, Cardiology, Gynecology, Anesthesiology, Organ Transplant, Endocrine, and General Surgery, etc.
