Thrissur

Amala Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) named after Blessed Virgin Mary, is a multidisciplinary medical network of pedagogical, therapeutic, research and outreach programmes. AIMS traces its origin to Amala Cancer Hospital which was started in 1978. It is managed by the Devamatha Province of CMI Congregation founded by St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara.

The Catholic Church has been engaged in the ministry of healing all over the world for the past two thousand years. The same mission also drove the Founder fathers of Pushpagiri at Tiruvalla, Kerala.This started as a small clinic with eight beds in 1959 to cater to rural maternity care has now grown to a full-fledged 1200 bedded, hi-tech super specialty Medical College   Hospital.

Government Medical College Thrissur, established in 1982 is one of the leading centers in medical education in Kerala, India.  Spread over an area of more than 250 acres, it is located in the serene surroundings of Mulagunnathukavu (M.G Kavu) 14 km from Thrissur. The Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) began functioning in the campus in 2009
