The foundation stone of the Institute was laid by Hon’ble Dr. Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, then President of India, on October 17, 1997 commemorating the 400th year of foundation of the historic holy city of Sri Amritsar by the 4th Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Ram Das Ji.
