The Hyderabad Medical School which came into existence in 1846 A.D. was the fore-runner of Osmania Medical College. The medium of instruction was Urdu, the degree was Hakeem. Last two decades of the nineteenth century was the glorious period of this school. Seventh and the last Nizam of Hyderabad Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan established Osmania University in 1919 A.D. and in the following year the Hyderabad Medical College. In 1957 A.D. Hyderabad became the Capital of enlarged Andhra Pradesh. Tremendous zeal and enthusiasm were evident to achieve all-round progress in medical education.

Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College, the prestigious institution of the Steel City, was started on 23rd April 1986 by upgrading the existing District Government Hospital which was started on 1917 in a span of 150 acres land. In order to serve the sick and needy people of Salem and the adjacent districts. The foundation for the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College was laid at Salem by the late Shri. History 

One hospital and one dispensary were started in 1845. Subsequently, such facilities were recommended for other parts of the state as well. However, due to lack of trained doctors the initiative with limited success, In 1855, a maternity hospital and one dispensary and a medical school were opened in Jaipur, inaugurated on 7th September, 1861 and in the first batch 24 students were admitted. To understand the genesis, growth and objectives of the trust, it is necessary to travel back in time and visualize the social, educational and economic scenario of India in general and city of Coimbatore in particular.

Beginning it's journey in the year of 1969 as ‘Burdwan University Medical College’ by the University of Burdwan, it was taken over by the Government of West Bengal on 4 August 1976, and renamed as Burdwan Medical College. In the year 2003 the College remained as the sole Medical College under the academic jurisdiction of Burdwan University until it was taken up by the West Bengal University of Health Sciences in 2003.

Overview
Kamineni Academy  of Medical  Sciences  and Research Centre (KAMSRC)  was started in  the year 2012 with goals of "Quality  Medical  Education,  Service to the community,  Ethics and Professionalism  in health care, and Research  and Development."

KAMSRC  is promoted  by Kamineni  Hospitals  Pvt.Ltd.,    L.B.   Nagar,  Hyderabad,  which was established  in  1991.The College was  permitted  by Medical Council of India for annual  admissions of 150 students  in  MBBS Course from the academic  year 2013.
