Founded in 1926, the Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College (GSMC) and the King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital are amongst the foremost teaching and medical care providing institutions in India. The medical college (school) provides training to about 2000 students in undergraduate, postgraduate and superspeciality medical courses; in undergraduate and postgraduate physical and occupational therapy; Masters and PhD courses in various allied specialties. A nursing school is also maintained by these institutions.

NEIGRIHMS was established by the Government of India in 1987. It has been designed as a Postgraduate Medical Institute in lineage of AIIMS, New Delhi and PGIMER, Chandigarh. It is the First Postgraduate Medical Institute in the North Eastern Region and the Third in the Country established by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The Institute was registered as a Society on 12th January 1987 by the Registrar of Societies, Meghalaya, Shillong under the name of

Thirumathi Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, the then Hon’ble Minister for Health, the Government of India inaugurated the Institution on 2.8.1954 at the old Taluk Building at the Fair Weather road, Madurai.

Meenakshi Medical College and Research Institute offer one of the most forward-looking educational environments in medicine in the country. The college is dedicated to training doctors of various branches of medicine as experts in clinical skills and knowledge thereby applying it for the welfare of the community. The Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati Medical College & Hospital, popularly known as M.K.C.G. Medical College and Hospital, is a Government Medical College set up by the Government of Odisha under Health & Family Welfare Department and is a pioneer medical institute in Eastern India in medical teaching, training, research and patient care. It has been named after the Late Maharaja of Parlakhemundi, Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati.

NRI'S MEDICAL COLLEGE

NRI Academy of Sciences is promoted by a small consortium of 32 NRI doctors from USA who were all born and brought up in Guntur and Krishna Districts of Andhra Pradesh. The main objective of NRIAS is to promote the best in medical education & to produce doctors with global standards while providing affordable health care to the needy people of the society on non-profit basis with state of art facilities and modern medical equipment.

Established in 1921, T.N. Medical College and B.Y.L. Nair Charitable Hospital had recently celebrated its centenary year. The occasion was blessed by the presence of Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri. Uddhavji Thackray. Being a first medical college and Hospital in India, run by Indians for Indians, it has set various landmarks in its glorious journey of 100 years.
