Head, Department of Pediatrics and Chief, Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Unit, Advanced Pediatrics Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh. This is a 300 bedded facility providing highly specialized care to children. Apart from MD Pediatrics, we run 9 postdoctoral DM Programmes and 4 Fellowships in various super specialties of Pediatrics - the largest number of academic programmes in any department in India. Of these, 4 DM Programmes and the 4 Fellowships were initiated after I took over Chair of the department in October 2016.
Chandigarh the ‘City Beautiful’ has one of the best educational facilities in the country. Besides the Panjab University and the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, it has an Engineering College, College of Arts, College of Architecture, a number of Government and Private Degree Colleges and other prestigious and important research institutions. However city lacked a Medical College for graduate i.e. MBBS and postgraduate studies for the students belonging to Chandigarh.
Hospital is located at Agamkuan and is well connected by all communication means. It has about 100 acres of land and different departments of the hospital are spread over several buildings in the campus. The different departments of the hospital are well equipped with modern equipments and expert doctors. NMCH is a major hub for treatment of all specialty in eastern patna taking care of approximately 2000 patient per day in OPD. The no of admission of patient per day in different departments and in casualty as well as in emergency is also very high.
The ‘Escola Medico Cirurgica da Goa’ was established in 1842 during the Portuguese rule and renamed as Goa Medical College in 1963. It is the oldest medical college in Asia. The college is under the Goa University since 1986 before which it was under the Bombay University.
The Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS) has been established by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi as an autonomous institute, under the Societies act.
The mission of ILBS is to become a dedicated international centre of excellence for the diagnosis, management and advanced training and research in the field of liver and biliary diseases.
The first phase of ILBS is already functional having 180 hospital beds, 74 of which cater as intensive care (ICU) beds.
