This Institute of Cancer is governed by a Governing Body under the Chairmanship of the Hon'ble Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Odisha as per the rules and regulations of the Government of Odisha and its own Bye-laws. There is an Executive Committee chaired by the Secretary to Govt. of Odisha, Department of Health & FW to supervise the affairs of the society, issue directions and empower the Director as they deem proper to attain the over all objectives subject to the guidelines issued by the Governing Body.

It is the 1st Private Hospital of Eastern India. Since its inception, it has been truly a hospital par excellence, serving the victims and sufferers from all over the country.

It was established with the pioneering efforts of illustrious doctors of national repute. Their footprints can still be found in Lecture Theatres, Laboratories, Library and corridors. Hi-Tech Hospital, Bhubaneswar. It is a multidisciplinary health centre which offers a plethora of services for patient diagnosis & care and currently serving with the best medical facilities in the capital of Odisha.

History
The evolution of this institution dates back to the beginning of the 19th century. It took its birth as a small dispensary as First Aid Centre in the premises of the present medical college during the days of Maratha rule in the later half of the eighteenth century. The sole purpose of that dispensary was to render whatever little medical assistance was available and feasible to the sick pilgrims en route to and from Puri, especially during the “Car Festival” of Lord Jagannath.
