In order to fulfill the dream of creating such committed doctors, MAEER’S MIT Pune, established, Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research (MIMER) in the year 1995 at Talegaon Dabhade, near Pune, India.The institute originally affiliated to the University of Pune, is now under Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nashik, and is recognized by Medical Council of India. The college provides facilities for the MBBS courses with intake capacity of 150 students.

Established in 1921, T.N. Medical College and B.Y.L. Nair Charitable Hospital had recently celebrated its centenary year. The occasion was blessed by the presence of Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri. Uddhavji Thackray. Being a first medical college and Hospital in India, run by Indians for Indians, it has set various landmarks in its glorious journey of 100 years.

M.M. Patel Public Charitable Trust is a Public Trust and it has been registered as P.T.R. no. E-702 Solapur. This trust has been established by the Patel family members by self earned income. The Government of Maharashtra has given approval in principle to the starting of a medical college by the Trust. The project of the Medical College and the Hospital being erected at and post Kumbhari, South Solapur.

History

The hospital was originally built in commemoration of the visit of the Prince of Wales in 1875 and was named king Albert Edward Hospital. The Foundation stone was laid by sir. James Fergusson, then Governor of Bombay o 9 march 1877. This was possible the blessings of the regional ruler Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj. This project was completed in 1881. The hospital underwent many changes after Shahu Maharaj returned from England and offered free treatment to every one. In 1946.

The ENT Department has been initially recognised by National Board of Examinations, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi as a Postgraduate Training Institute since 1984 for training PG students for Diplomate NB(Otorhinolaryngology).

From the academic year 1990-91 this PG Training Institute has obtained affiliation from Shivaji University, Kolhapur for training PG candidates for MS(ENT) and DLO(ENT) with intake capacity as follows : MS (ENT) 1 Candidate per year and DLO (ENT) 2 Candidates per year.
