Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This Creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, in 1916 with cooperation of great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was created under the Parliamentary legislation - B.H.U. Act 1915. Medical Council of India has given permission for admission of 100 M.B.B. S students in June 2008, which has been increased currently to 125 M.B.B.S. seats.

Some people are destined for greatness, no matter how humble their beginnings. Shri  M.V. Muthuramalingam is one such personality. His mother’s poignant words and his life experiences taught him to never give up. No matter what challenge life placed in his path, he has always approached it head on and was driven to achieve greater heights. This admirable perseverance was displayed early in childhood, having faced adversity after adversity. He pursued a degree in engineering, overcoming the challenges of his rural upbringing.

             Sree Balaji Medical College & Hospital was started from the academic year 2003-04 with the aim of providing excellent medical education run by Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust established in 1984 and it has come under the ambit of BHARATH INSTITUTE OF HIGHER EDUCATION & RESEARCH in the year 2004. The hospital stated under graduate -MBBS admission of 100 per academic year from the year 2003-2004 onwards. Our college has started Postgraduate courses from the academic year from 2009 -2010 with an annual intake of 60 seats in various broad specialities.
