Government Medical College, Amritsar traces its foundation as a Medical School in Lahore in 1864. It was later relocated to Amritsar in 1920.

The college has a cherished history and earned for itself a place of pride in the field of medical education and patient care in the region. I take over as Dr K.A. Dinshaw superannuates after an illustrious career of 13 years. It played a stellar role in the independence movement and has developed into the greatest center of learning in India.

Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Government Institute of Medical Science and Research, Srinagar, Pauri Garhwal is first government college of Uttarakhand. Medical Council of India has given permission for admission of 100 M.B.B. S students in June 2008, which has been increased currently to 125 M.B.B.S. seats.

Brief History:
Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Medical College, Rajkot was started in June 1995. It now admits 150 (100 Recognised and 50 Permitted) students per year and is the fastest growing medical college of Gujarat with the target of providing sub speciality education in 15 branches of Medicine & Surgery. It is affiliated to Saurashtra University, Rajkot.

Hindu Rao Hospital:
On the ridge in Civil Line area of Delhi, almost opposite to the Ashoka Pillar is Hindu Rao Hospital, one of the oldest hospitals of Delhi. The hospital's main building is popularly known as Hindu Rao's House. The history of the hospital's main building is of special interest, as it was built in the early 19th century on a large scale, as a residence of the dynamic officer, William Fraser, who also later became the city's Resident.
