KVG Medical College & Hospital is a private institution imparting medical education in the state of Karnataka. The institute was established in the year 2002 under the guidance of Dr. Kurunji Venkatramana Gowda, Founder President of Academy Of Liberal Education (R), Sullia, Dakshina Kannada.
The private coeducational institute is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore. It is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The institute is located in Sullia in the Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka.

KVG Medical College & Hospital is sponsored by the Academy of Liberal Education, Sullia. It has one of the largest educational complexes in India. The campus is a unique place of learning in India. It is one of those rare campuses that offer a host of courses such as Diploma, Under Graduate and Post Graduate programs under various streams of study like Medicine, Ayurvedic, Dental, Nursing, Management, Engineering, Polytechnic, Law, ITI, Science, Arts, Commerce, etc. from one large singular campus.

The Institute KVG Medical College and Hospital was established in year 2002 by Dr. Kurunji Venkatramana Gowda, Founder President of Academy Of Liberal Education (R), Sullia, D.K. with an aim of producing world class professionals in specialized field of Medical sciences. The Institute is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (Karnataka) Bangalore and is recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI).

ADMINISTRATIVE SETUP
Academy of Liberal Education (R.), AOLE, Sullia D.K. is the apex body for the planning and development of the College. Services of the Medical Director, Executive Director, The Director and Principal are available to assist the Academy. The College council consisting of Heads of the Department helps the Administrator in the day to day functioning of the Institution.

Dr. K.V. Chidananda, President of Academy of Liberal Education (R), Sullia d.K. is also serving as the Medical Director of the hospital. He graduated from Govt. Mysore Medical College and had the privilege of obtaining the Masters Degree in General Surgery from Govt. Stanley Medical College, Chennai. He is also a Fellow of Association of Indian Surgeons (FAIS), Fellow of Royal Society of Health (FRSPH), U.K. and Fellow of International College of Surgeons (FICS) Chicago, New York (USA).
He has 28 years of experience in administration and practice of General Surgery. He has also been in teaching profession for the past 20 years. He is the Founder President of Sullia branch of IMA (Indian Medical Association).

Dr.Neelambikai Natarajan has Graduated from Thanjavur Medical college, MD in Physiology from Madras Medical College and MBA in Hospital Administration from Alagappa University.
In her medical service she had worked in Madras Medical College, Madhurai Medical College, Government Medical College Coimbatore, Govt KAP Vishwanathan Medical College, Trichy and in Meenakshi Medical College Kachipuram.
She was Ex Senate member of MGR University, Secretory Ethics Committee. She has completed advance course in Medical Education (ACME).

He has completed MBA in Hospital Management. He achieved Fellowship in MAS, FIAGES, FICS, and FMAS. Presently he is a professor and Medical superintendent in KVG Medical College, Sullia. He won 2nd place in Simulator Learning, Annual award at KMC MANIPAL.

Dr. Sheela G. Nayak MBBS, MS formerly Director of Medical Education Govt. of Karnataka has more than 40 years of teaching experience. She has served in Govt. Medical Colleges at Hubli,Bellary, Mysore in various capacities.
She was Principal of KVG Medical College & Hospital for above 11 years. She was an excellent teacher and an able administrator.
She was principal of Govt. Medical College, Mysore for 3 years and has published 7 papers in national journals. She was syndicate member and dean of faculty of Medicine in RGUHS and Mysore University.

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (Latin: Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae; abbreviated in many ways, most commonly MBBS, but also MB ChB, BMBS, MB BCh, MB BChir), is the primary medical degree awarded by medical schools in countries that follow the tradition of the United Kingdom. The historical degree nomenclature states that they are two separate undergraduate degrees. In practice, however, they are usually combined as one and conferred together, and may also be awarded at graduate-level medical schools.
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), is a professional degree in medical science. A person holding the MBBS degree becomes a certified medical practitioner. The duration of MBBS course is five years and six months including one year of rotational internship at hospitals, health centres, and health camps organised by non-profit organisations (NGOs). MBBS course syllabus includes studies on anatomy, pharmacology, pathology as well as community health & medicine, paediatrics, and surgery. The syllabus, prescribed in such a way that MBBS degree holders can choose a specialisation for further majoring and practising medicine. The career specialisations for MBBS students are Nephrology, Cardiology, Gynecology, Anesthesiology, Organ Transplant, Endocrine, and General Surgery, etc.
MD - Anaesthesiology
The purpose of PG education is to create specialists who would provide high quality health care and advance the cause of science through research & training. A post graduate specialist having undergone the required training in anesthesiology should be able to recognize the health needs of the community. He or she should be competent to handle effectively medical problems and should be aware of the recent advances pertaining to his/her specialty. She/he should be highly competent anesthesiologist with broad range of skills that will enable him/her to practice anesthesiology independently. The PG student should also acquire the basic skills in teaching of medical/para-medical students. She/he is also expected to know the principles of research methodology and modes of consulting library. She/he should attend conferences, workshops and CMEs regularly to upgrade his/her knowledge. The purpose of this document is to provide teachers and learners illustrative guidelines to achieve defined outcomes through learning and assessment. This document was prepared by various subject-content specialists. The Reconciliation Board of the Academic Committee has attempted to render uniformity without compromise to purpose and content of the document. Compromise in purity of syntax has been made in order to preserve the purpose and content. This has necessitated retention of “domains of learning” under the heading “competencies”
MD - Psychiatry
M. D. in Psychiatry is a Clinical Speciality course.
Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry explores the major psychiatric syndromes like psychotic, mood and anxiety disorders, psychological effects of physical diseases, the doctor-patient relationship, human development, patient interviewing, and ethical issues in medicine. It is a three-year postgraduation course and can be pursued by any MBBS holders from a University recognized by Medical council of India. Most psychiatrists practice general psychiatry. Sub-specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Geriatric psychiatry can be conducted after M. D. in Psychiatry.
